During a treatment, our Astanza Trinity laser will shoot ultra-fast pulses of light energy onto your tattoo. The ink particles in your skin will absorb the wavelengths of light energy, heat up, and shatter into fragmented particles. Your body’s immune system will then naturally collect the shattered particles and dispose of them through your lymphatic system. This process is repeated until no ink is left in your skin. For a more detailed answer, visit our laser tattoo removal overview page.
The number of treatments needed varies for every person and every tattoo. Using a list of factors, Ink Doubt will assess your tattoo and best estimate the number of treatments you will need. These include the age, size, and location of your tattoo, the ink colors in your tattoo, the depth and density of the ink in your tattoo, any pre-existing scarring, and patient health. All of these factors help indicate how many treatments you will need to achieve your desired look. On average, most patients need between 5 to 10 treatments for complete tattoo removal. Patients with faded tattoos or those interested in lightening their tattoos for a cover-up typically need 3 to 4 treatments.
Our Astanza Trinity laser shatters more ink in each session, speeding up the natural fading process and reducing the overall number of treatments needed. Patients will witness their tattoo fade within the first 2 treatments! Since treatments are spaced a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks apart, complete tattoo removal can take a couple of months to over a year depending on how quickly you heal and how many treatments your tattoo will need. Ink Doubt promises that the results are worth the wait!
The majority of laser tattoo removal patients have compared the laser to a rubber band snapping against their skin. We’ve had a few patients say the procedure feels like having another tattoo applied. Luckily, laser tattoo removal treatment is avery quick procedure that lasts as little as 1 to 30 minutes depending on the size of the tattoo being treated. Ink Doubt has invested in the Zimmer Cryo cooling device to help numb and alleviate the skin before, during, and after your treatment. Laser tattoo removal is the safest method for removing unwanted tattoos. Our laser uses Q-switched technology, meaning it releases light energy through super fast pulse durations that are able to penetrate the skin without causing any damage to surrounding skin tissue. The only side effects patients experience are redness, swelling, itchiness, scabbing, blistering, and skin discoloration. These side effects are temporary and heal over the weeks following each treatment. The only time a patient may experience unwanted side effects is when they do not apply proper aftercare to the treatment site outside of our clinic. As long as proper protocols and aftercare are administered, your skin will heal beautifully with optimal removal results.
Ink Doubt determines the price per treatment based on the number of treatments you will need and the size of the tattoo being treated.
